The SMART^® ONE – Wearable MTD is the most widely used single piece offender tracking device in the world, and provides Active, Alert, Passive, and RF levels of supervision in a compact, ankle worn package. It is a proven rugged design that utilizes a low power, high sensitivity GPS receiver and a wireless GSM/GPRS modem.

The WMTD is a "SMART^®" unit, meaning all rules (e.g., exclusion and inclusion zones, schedules, etc.) are stored in the device allowing autonomous tracking and monitoring capability without dependence on availability of a signal from the wireless provider. The device determines immediately if an offender is in violation of a geographic or other rule, and immediately alerts the offender of the violation. This immediate notification serves to modify the offender's behavior and provides an alert that corrective action is required.
